Breanna Ruhlman is the Logistics Coordinator for Educational Outreach at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville, Alabama. She holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism, with a concentration in Visual Journalism, from the University of Alabama. Breanna worked in the Department of Journalism during her time as a student at UA. There, she served as the co-director of the Multicultural Journalism Workshop, a weeklong opportunity for high school journalists, offered by UA's Alabama Scholastic Press Association. These opportunities allowed her to develop the unique skill set needed for a position where no two days are the same.
During her time at HudsonAlpha, Breanna has coordinated more than 80 major projects, ranging from multi-day teacher professional development sessions, student experiences, public educational offerings, and philanthropic events. This has required her to hone her project management skills to not only provide a high level of experience for participants, but also to manage the workflow of the diverse Educational Outreach team. Breanna is a highly organized self-starter who implemented and trained team members on project management software and streamlined complex processes. Her drive, detail-oriented nature, and consistency have enabled her to thrive in a high-pressure position within a dynamic team that is tasked with providing rich educational experiences to students, teachers and the public.
When she is not crossing off checklists and buying new sticky notes, Breanna loves to spend time with her loving husband, David, and her family and friends. When the leaves start changing colors, and the smell of barbeque is in the air, Breanna can assuredly be found in front of the television, cheering on the Crimson Tide.
